HAWK GF F5J ist ein Projekt, vor etwas mehr als 2 Jahren ins Leben gerufen wurde. Die Initiative ging von Vladimirs Seite aus, der seit mehr als 25 Jahren im Bereich des Modellbaus und im F5J Fliegen tätig ist. Zusätzlich zu meiner Profilentwicklung im F5J-Bereich, die in den letzten Jahren hauptsächlich in Zusammenarbeit mit Mark Drelas Profiles erfolgte, arbeitete ich ständig an einer neuen modifizierten F5J-Profilfamilie, die meine Ansichten über ein "optimales" F5J-Modell enthalten sollte. Natürlich sollten auch die Erfahrungen aus den F5J-Wettbewerben einfließen. Nach einigen mehr, manchmal weniger intensiven Arbeiten war es dann endlich vor etwa einem Jahr soweit, ein Stand, der meine Anforderungen an die Simulation in Bezug auf alle relevanten Parameter erfüllte. HAWK F5J is a project that we Vladimir R - Daniel H launched just over 2 year ago. The initiative came from Vladimirs side who has been involved in F5J Competition flying - models design and building for more then 25 years. HAWK is a great follower of Very famous f5j models Element 3.4m and 2.5. There are over 200 models out there. HAWK is Full Biaxial carbon composite build in moulds. In addition to my profile development in the F5J area, which in recent years was mainly in cooperation with Mark Drelas Profiles, I was constantly working on a new F5J modified profile family, which should include my views of an "optimal" F5J model. Of course, the experience gained in the F5J competitions . After some more, sometimes less intensive work on it was then finally reached about a year ago, a stand that met my requirements in the simulation in terms of all relevant parameters. The goals were the following: - maximum support of the pilot in difficult conditions (thermal flight near the ground, wind, torn upwind fields) - easy and safe handling - high climbing performance - Good flight performance even at low wing loads - F5J capable hull In the subsequent 3D construction special emphasis was placed on the fuselage. Here, the task was to optimize the strength common. The front fuselage area is also designed with the F5J becoming more and more popular, so electrification is easy to achieve. After the 3D data was ready at the end of December, spring 2018 consisted of milling, grinding and polishing and molding. The performance and flight performance shown are extremely satisfactory after the current experience with HAWK No.1 and let us look forward to the 2019 season. HAWK- strong version with FAI limits weight; The new HAWK F5J is an defining model. The HAWK is bigger, lighter, and better designed than any other F5J electric glider ever mass produced. The finish is superb. It is practical. It looks great. It is amazing value when considering the quality of design and construction. The whole model is engineered to be as light as possible while being just strong enough for flight loads and careful handling forces. The172 cm long one piece carbon fuselage CFK weighs just 160 g. It has a large canopy hatch to provide good access to the flight battery and allow for easy powertrain and RC installation. The rudder and elevator servos are mounted in under the wing with easy access surfaces are operated using a steal kanila pushrod. Like the other flying surfaces the wing is solid molded using a very light biaxial spread carbon over a Rohacell core. The surface finish is excellent and a strong carbon spar provides adequate strength. The centre panel incorporates 2.5º of dihedral and is 170 cm long, Wing tips are on 7º or 9º wing joiners – both are provided with the model. providing for larger than usual flaps, which can be deflected 80º or even 90º down, to enable very slow and easily controlled maximum point landings. Pockets sized are ready cut for the flap servos. Servo wires are installed, also plugs plugs and sockets are provided for the wing-fuselage connection.
